Access Maintain helps by notifying contractors when asbestos is present, displaying the asbestos report on engineersโ mobile accounts, and logging their site visits for accountability.

Update asbestos status for a unit
From the Admin area, click Add/Edit Units.
Select the unit.
Click the Further Info tab.
Unlock the green padlock
icon.Choose the appropriate asbestos status:
Asbestos Found/Presumed Present
100% Surveyed, 100% Clear of Asbestos
Partially Surveyed, Re-Inspection Required
New Build, Survey Not Required
Partially Surveyed, Re-Inspection Not Required
Click Save.
Keeping this status up to date ensures all users have accurate information about any potential asbestos risks before work is carried out.
Add asbestos report for a unit
If the unit has asbestos, you can attach reports to make the contractors aware when attending the site.
From the Admin area, click Add/Edit Units.
Select the unit.
Go to the Further info tab.
Unlock the green padlock
icon.Attach the asbestos report.
Click Save.
Once uploaded, the report will be visible to all contractors working on the unit, so they are aware of the Health and Safety requirements.
Ensure contractors confirm they have read the asbestos information
To require contractors and engineers to confirm they have read the asbestos details before attending the site:
From the Admin area, click Contractor Settings.
Click the Summary tab.
Enable Compulsory confirmation on reading asbestos details.
This setting ensures contractors acknowledge potential risks and review the uploaded asbestos report.
Additional tools and notes
Use the Asbestos Register Status Report in the Compliance section of Group Reports to identify sites missing asbestos status information and to confirm that sites with asbestos have the correct report uploaded.
When an order is raised for a site where asbestos is present, an orange triangle appears on the order. Contractors can click this triangle when assigning work to view the asbestos report.
By managing asbestos information carefully in Access Maintain and requiring confirmations, you help protect contractors, engineers, and all site personnel while maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
