You can set the system to automatically select the most suitable contractor for a job, helping ensure value for money and consistent performance. After the system has been in use for at least 60 days, enough data is available to compare contractors based on performance and cost. Using this information, the system can allocate jobs to the contractor that delivers the best results.

This feature is managed at the unit level, giving organisations flexibility to enable or disable automatic contractor selection. You can also choose how strictly the primary contractor should be applied, depending on whether alternatives should be allowed.

Update the auto selection setting

  1. From the Admin area, click Unit Settings.

  2. Unlock the green padlock icon.

  3. Find the setting Auto Selection of Contractor and set:

    • Select Yes to enable automatic selection.

    • No, to disable it.

  4. Click Save.

Additional contractor selection options

Within Unit Settings, you can also review and update the following options:

  • Allow the pre-selection of Primary contractor?
When enabled, the primary contractor will be pre-selected for new jobs.

  • Allow unit to select alternatives to the Primary contractor?
When enabled, the primary contractor appears by default, but unit managers can choose a different contractor if needed.

πŸ“Œ Note: If the primary contractor does not appear when raising a job, check that the contractor is selected within Trade Analysis. If this is already correct, review the auto selection settings above to ensure they are configured as required.
