Manage unit brand types

You can manage the units and the brand types to define what areas for work are available.

Written by Rubin Muresan

If the wrong floor plan appears when raising a callout, for example, showing a head office layout instead of a store layout, it usually means the brand type on the unit is set incorrectly. The brand type controls which floor plan is used, so if it is not set correctly, the system may show the wrong plan.

To update the brand type for a unit and correct the floor plan, follow these steps:

  1. From the Admin area, click Add/Edit Units.

  2. Click on the Unit that needs the floor plan updated.

  3. Unlock the green padlock icon.

  4. In the Brand Type drop-down list, choose the correct brand type.

  5. Click Save.

📌 Note: Once the correct brand type is selected, the appropriate floor plan will display for the unit when raising future callouts.

Create a new brand type

If no brand type meets the needs, you can create a new brand type by following the steps below:

  1. From the Admin area, click Unit Details Settings.

  2. Click on the Units Types / Brands tab.

  3. Unlock the green padlock icon.

  4. Click Add Unit Type / Brand.

  5. Enter the Name for Unit Type/Brand.

  6. Select Virtual Unit type from the dropdown menu.

  7. Click Save.

Manage Virtual Units

Virtual units are designed to reflect the layout and areas specific to a type of property. For example, a restaurant unit may contain areas such as a kitchen, customer area, and washing area, while a hotel unit may include a reception, and a retail unit may include storage spaces. Selecting the correct virtual unit ensures the right areas are available for that property type.

As an administrator, you can enable and disable virtual units, removing the need to raise a support request for unit configuration changes.

Follow the steps below to enable or disable a virtual unit.

  1. From the Admin area, click Unit Details Settings.

  2. Click the Manage Virtual Units tab.

  3. Unlock the green padlock icon.

  4. Click Enable or Disable next to the unit type.

  5. Click Save.
