Asbestos PMV orders work differently from other PMVs. The setting that allows costs to be configured individually per site cannot be applied to asbestos PMVs, because asbestos visits are linked directly to the site's asbestos status, which determines whether a reinspection is required.
To manage this effectively, set up a standing order alongside the asbestos PMV. This ensures the contractor is paid appropriately while the asbestos reinspection is recorded at £0. You can also update the contractor's rates to zero out the cost for asbestos inspections.
To set the asbestos inspection cost to £0, follow the steps below:
From the Admin area, click Add/Edit Contractor.
Select the specific contractor.
Click the Rates tab.
Within the Rates section, click the Planned tab.
Unlock the green padlock
icon.Change the cost per visit to £0.
Click Save.
This ensures the standing order covers the contractor's payment while the asbestos reinspection is recorded at £0, maintaining accurate financial records without affecting the asbestos compliance process.
