Asbestos PMV pricing restrictions

Asbestos PMVs are handled differently in Access Maintain, why costs cannot be set per site, and how to manage them using standing orders and zero-cost rates.

Asbestos PMV (Planned Maintenance Visit) orders work slightly differently from other PMVs. The setting that normally allows costs to be configured individually per site cannot be applied to asbestos PMVs. This is because asbestos visits are linked directly to the site's asbestos status, which determines whether a reinspection is required or not.

To manage this process effectively, we recommend setting up a standing order alongside the asbestos PMV. This ensures that the contractor is still paid appropriately while the asbestos reinspection is recorded at Β£0.

In addition, you can update the contractor's rates to zero out the cost for asbestos inspections by following these steps:

  1. From the Admin area, click Add/Edit Contractor.

  2. Select the specific contractor.

  3. Click the Rates tab.

  4. Within the Rates section, click the Planned tab.

  5. Unlock the green padlock icon.

  6. Change the cost per visit to Β£0.

  7. Click Save.

By doing this, the standing order ensures the contractor is paid the correct amount for their service, while the asbestos reinspection itself is recorded at Β£0 within the system. This maintains accurate financial records without impacting the asbestos compliance process.
