Unable to allocate an engineer to a PPO as a contractor

Manage supply-only orders by recognising they exclude labour and re-raising the order with labour costs if engineer allocation is required.

Written by Rubin Muresan

If you are unable to allocate an engineer to a quote order, it may be because the order was raised as a Supply Only order. Supply-only orders are designed for situations where only materials or goods are being provided, with no labour element included. Because of this, the system does not require or allow an engineer to be assigned.

Identify supply-only orders

You can identify a supply-only order in two ways:

  • A message will appear at the time of submission stating that the order is supply-only.

  • The labour cost will display as Β£0, confirming that no labour has been included.

If the order should have included labour costs but was mistakenly created as supply-only, you will need to cancel the order and re-raise it with the correct labour costs. This will allow visits to be logged and engineers to be allocated as required.

πŸ“Œ Note: When labour is included in the order, the system will allow normal scheduling of visits and engineer allocation without further issues.
