If you encounter an error message when trying to cancel a remedial order classified as Category 1 or Category 2, this is due to a specific setting in your system.

Access Maintain allows remedial orders to be categorised based on risk level, which affects whether they can be cancelled.

Raising a remedial order

When raising a remedial order, the user must select a category from the following options:

  • Category 1: High-risk remedials that require the contractor to complete the work immediately.

  • Category 2: Remedials that require the contractor to return and complete the work as soon as possible.

  • Category 3: Recommendations related to the PMV or area that are not urgent.

📌Note: For safety reasons, the system does not allow cancellation of remedials classified as Category 1 or 2. If you cannot cancel a remedial order, it is likely assigned to one of these categories.

Options to resolve this

You have two options to resolve this:

  • Go to the relevant PMV and temporarily disable the setting that requires remedials to be categorised. You can then cancel the remedial order and re-enable the setting afterward.

  • Alternatively, log the contractor’s visit, set the costs to zero, and add a note to the remedial explaining the situation, for example, user error.

Amend categorisation setting

To find and update the categorisation setting, follow the below steps:

  1. Navigate to Admin then select PMV Contracts.

  2. Open the specific PMV.

  3. Locate the option Are remedial works to be categorised? and toggle it as needed.
