Unable to upload a PMV template

Troubleshoot PMV template upload failures caused by missing contractor costs or Excel formatting issues.

Written by Rubin Muresan

If you are experiencing issues when uploading a PMV template, the problem is usually related to missing cost information or formatting errors within the Excel file. The steps below will help you identify and resolve the most common causes.

Check contractor settings for cost per visit

Follow the steps below to confirm how the contractor's PMV is set up and whether a cost per visit column is required in your template.

  1. From the Admin area, click Add/Edit Contractors.

  2. Search for and select the contractor.

  3. Click Rates, then select Planned.

  4. Use the drop-down to view the PMVs assigned to the contractor.

  5. Check whether the PMV shows Priced individually by unit or a blank area where costs can be entered:

    • If it shows Priced individually by unit, the template requires a cost per visit column.

    • If it shows a blank cost field, enter the cost per visit directly for each unit. The template will not include the column in this case.

Check the Excel template for formatting issues

Unexpected upload errors are often caused by minor formatting mistakes. Review the following before uploading:

  • Remove any unnecessary empty spaces using Excel's Find & Replace feature.

  • Ensure all cells use consistent formatting for letters and numbers.

  • Confirm that cell sizes and text formats are consistent throughout the file.

  • Make sure names are entered exactly as they appear in the system.

  • Use drop-down lists where available rather than typing values manually.

  • Check that all dates are entered correctly.

By reviewing both the contractor settings and the Excel formatting, most upload errors can be resolved without needing further support.
