Budget lines allow you to allocate and manage funding more accurately within either the capital or revenue budget. Creating dedicated budget lines gives you greater control over how funds are used, who can view them, and who must authorise spending before payment is approved.
To add a new budget line, please follow the steps below:
From the Finance area, click Budget Management.
Select the relevant tab, either Capital budget or Revenue budget.
Click one of the options:
Add New Capital Budget.
Add New Revenue Budget.
Enter the required details:
Budget Name.
Amount.
Description.
Under Final authorisation by, select the user group responsible for approving spend against this budget.
Under the Budget line viewable by, select the users or user groups who will be allowed to view and allocate this budget when raising orders.
Click Save.
π Note: Using separate budget lines with defined access and approval groups provides clearer financial control and accountability for different types of work.
