When creating a new project in Access Maintain, selecting the correct project type is important to avoid errors related to unit IDs.

  • New Build projects β€” Select New Build only when the project is not associated with an existing unit. Each New Build requires a unique unit number that does not already exist in the system, allowing the project to be tracked independently.

  • Existing units β€” If the project relates to a unit that already exists in the system, select any project type other than New Build. This associates the project with the existing unit and prevents a site ID error.

πŸ€“ Tip: Always check whether the project relates to a new or existing unit before selecting the project type. This avoids duplication errors and ensures accurate project tracking in Access Maintain.
