Add a supply-only category and sub-category

Create and organise supply only categories, sub-categories, and individual items within the Product Catalogue

Written by Aurelian Bodea

Categories and sub-categories help group and classify supply-only products, making them easier to manage and select during ordering. Once set up, items can be added to the relevant sub-category for better inventory management.

Add a category and a sub-category

Create the category structure in the Product Catalogue before adding individual items.

  1. From the Admin area, click the Product Catalogue tab under Supply Only.

  2. Click Add New Category to create a new supply-only category.

  3. To create a sub-category, select the relevant category and click Add New Sub-Category.

  4. Unlock the green padlock icon.

  5. Enter the required details for the category or sub-category.

  6. Assign the correct areas, such as the kitchen or maintenance.

  7. Click Save.

πŸ“Œ Note: Each category must have at least one sub-category before items can be listed under it. Adding a sub-category also makes the category available as a supply-only trade type on the Contractor and Suppliers screens, allowing proper selection during job processing.

Add an individual item to a sub-category

Once the category structure is in place, add individual items to the relevant sub-category.

  1. Click Add Item.

  2. Fill in the required item details and upload an image if available.

  3. Click Save.
